Even though Easter break isn’t the longest of holidays, it’s another holiday where unhealthy food is in the spotlight.

Is it okay to always combine holidays with unhealthy food? And how to eat healthy during Easter??

Let’s be honest, bananas, almonds, and kiwis are not what we associate with Easter baskets, but what are the options? You don’t want to buy some crappy toys that break by looking at them. Not least, it has to be at a reasonable price, right?

In other words; buying sweets in large quantities is cheap, easy, and tempting! Unfortunately, it comes with a price – GUILT.

Don’t let guilt stand in your way of enjoying your holidays and some easter egg. Here are 5 healthy eating tips for you to easily keep throughout Easter break.

5 Healthy Eating Tips at Easter:

1.Keep Normal Meal Routines

One thing about achieving healthy lifestyle habits for a lifetime is the fact that you know how to deal with tough situations, new routines, and holidays, and that is by keeping your normal meal routines. In that case, you don’t have to start all the way from scratch when (and it will happen!) life throws you a surprise.

 

2. Bring your water bottle anywhere 

One way of avoiding uncontrollable, unhealthy snacking in between meals is as simple as staying hydrated. Most importantly, it needs to be available at any time so you can avoid fatigue, lost focus, and cravings for unhealthy food.

 

3. Decide when to dig into the Easter egg

I don’t know about you, but I find it, let’s say…challenging, to control myself when I have access to sweets all day long. Constantly snacking on the Easter egg can also ruin your family’s appetite and mood(!). Decide some specific time(s) throughout the day when you all can enjoy sweets from the Easter egg;) Less hustle and bustle too!

 

4. Dump unrealistic goals

Change your mindset from ‘all-or-nothing’ to ‘What can I do the following few meals to be more in line with my way of healthy eating?’. It’s totally okay to enjoy sweets now and then, especially during holidays once a year.

 

5. Add some veggies, fruit, and/or berries to every meal

Feeding the body what it needs to stay on top of holiday stress, and make it easier for yourself to come back to normal everyday life again – don’t miss out on the veggies!
